Maturing process and age: In casks made of Gascony oak. The youngest Armagnac in the blend is 15 years old. The age reads on the label. Distillation method: Continuous Armagnac method. Characteristics: Colour very warm, slightly amber with ruby and golden reflections. Subtle perfumes : streams of liquorice mixing with those of peach blossom and tobacco. Flavours of candied fruit and tannin. Much body and roundness, but also pleasantly soft. Remarkably long persistence in the mouth and in the glass. Very good ‘rancio'. Conclusion: perhaps the best succeeded of all Samalens blends in this age range. Powerful and yet smooth, fruity and yet mature, it unites the irreconcilable.
