In the early ' 70, John Rutte created the "Sleedoorn Likeur" or a liqueur of sloes berries with gin and fresh berries, which he himself collected in the Biesbosch, the national park with countless rivers and streams next to the Dordrecht distillery. Loyal to the style of John, the Rutte Sloe gin uniquely mixes the sloes berries soaked in gin with the liquid of the distilled sloes and a touch of traditional malt wine (barley malt) to offer a fully balanced gin, with a full and fruity aroma. Tasting notes, botanical: blackthorn berries, juniper, blackcurrant, cherry, coriander, iris root, galanga, orange blossom, gentian, vanilla and smell: vanilla, cherry syrup, spices and citrus fruits. Taste: Sour cherries, stone fruit at the first impact, with a slight hint of oak. Final: Long and soft finish, natural sweetness.
