ESSENTIEL Cuvée Brut is the ultimate expression of Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut: called "the wine of the House that goes to the essence of brut" Chef de Cave that created it, Régis Camus, winner from 2007 to 2011 of the "Sparkling Winemaker of the Year Trophy, IWC (International Wine Challenge)". The Assembly of Essentiel is made with grapes of Pinot Noir (55-60%) that give structure and strength, with some parts, hand selected from cru specifically chosen by Régis Camus, Pinot Meunier of the "Montagne de Reims" (20-25%) and Chardonnay (10-15%) and the integration of reserve wines, to donate the balance to the Assembly and not betraying the coherence to the wines of Maison in the passing of time. This last element, key to many Champagne of the House, plays a key role in the production of Cuvée Brut Essentiel, that is allowed to stand on the lees in "caves" gallo-Roman chalk for a minimum of 36 months (bottling in April 2009 and disgorging in October 2012). The reduced dose of sugar (0.25 oz/L) makes Essentiel a product unique and successful. The bottles are numbered on the front label, while in retro-label you will find all the information listed above regarding the time of aging in "caves", disgorgement and dosage of sugar per litre. After refining the style of Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut ten years ago, Régis Camus now offers the pinnacle of excellence for picky eaters. To the eye: a pale and bright gold. A very delicate perlage tempered by time. On the nose: a first and imminent impression of freshness pervades. Clear and concentrated notes of white fruits such as apple, pear and grapes give way to toasted almonds and sweet like the candied violets. Elegant and sophisticated. On the palate: a fresh wine with notes of citrus fruits, such as grapefruit, Sicilian lemon, Tangerine, and vibrancy of spring flowers. A wine concentrated and refined.
