Olfactory characteristics: The Apanage Prestige presents the sublime fragrance of our wine regions. The nose is floral and round, but with perfect discretion. Nothing ostentatious, everything is soft and gentle. This wine opens with floral aromas on the touch as the lime, but also of white fruits like pear, along with some fruit notes, giving the impression of slightly buttery creamy desserts. Taste characteristics: In the mouth the wine caresses the palate like a soft breath. Everything is well rounded, do not convey any roughness. All perceptions are reflected in the same aromatic flavors to finish with a subtle sense of indulgence. The elegance that dominates the whole is a rare complexity. Jeanne Alexandrine Louise Mélin was born March 18, 1819 in Ardennes and married Alexandre Pommery in 1839. Upon Alexandre's death in 1860, his widow Louise Pommery assumed full control of the business. She purchased 120 limestone and chalk pits, so-called crayères, carved underneath 12 miles of the city of Reims by Roman soldiers during their occupation of Gaul. These unique cellars allowed her to store and age over twenty million bottles in a temperature-controlled environment. Many other Champagne houses later followed suit.
