Grapes : Cabernet Sauvignon 70% , Petit Verdot 25% e Syrah 5%
Vintage : 2011
Bottle : 75 cl

Vineyard / Origin: 25 years ago we experimented by planting varieties which were new to Alto Adige/South Tyrol, including Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Petit Merlot. The grapes which go into our Yngram blend are carefully selected and grown in family-owned vineyards. Soil: A mixture of clay, limestone and eroded porphyry. Winemaking: The grapes are lightly crushed and conveyed into the fermentation tank, where fermentation lasts for around 12 days. During this phase the must is kept constantly in contact with the skins and stalks in order to obtain the maximum extraction of fruit aromas, colour and tannins. Maturation: Yngram is matured for 24 months in small oak casks; a uniform blend is then made after which the wine matures for a further 12 months in a large oak cask, filled and subsequently matured in bottle for 12 months prior to release. Description: The colour is deep and concentrated, almost purple in the centre while the unmistakable aroma of Cabernet emerges, reminiscent of blackcurrant mixed with lightly earthy aromas deriving from the terroir, with spicy with fine toasty nuances of new oak reminiscent of vanilla, and mild exotic spices. The characteristics deriving from the grape varieties, soil and winemaking techniques merge in perfect harmony and follow through on the palate. The wine's richness and opulence is cut by assertive tannins, producing a long and elegant finish. Food Choices: Venison, sophisticated dishes of red meat and game.

Hofstatter J.

Product by: Hofstatter J.

He was the very first in South Tyrol to keep separate the grapes harvested in individual sites and name the resulting wines after the respective vineyards. Konrad Oberhofer’s daughter Sieglinde married Paolo Foradori in 1959. Paolo comes from an old-established family of winegrowers in the Adige Valley and owned vineyards in superb locations on the eastern side of the valley opposite Tramin. Since then these vineyards have been administered together with those on the Tramin side of the valley in the family company’s headquarters which still bears the name of the estate’s founder, Josef Hofstätter.
