Glenfarclas – in Gaelic, "the Valley of green pastures" – at the foot of the mountain of Ben Rinnes, Speyside. It is here that the Glenfarclas distillery was built in 1836, that thirty years later, in 1865, was purchased by the family Grant. Today is the sixth generation of the family, in the person of George Grant, to lead the distillery. The last remaining independent from the big world beverage groups proudly. To produce the Whisky Glenfarclas requires three main ingredients: pure water, cold and clear, natural springs of Mount Ben Rinnes; barley, entirely produced in Scotland in the area of Moray; the yeast. After distillation, which is always made for small lots, the whiskies are placed to sleep in the best Sherry oak casks of Spain: Glenfarclas is in fact remained the only distillery to use predominantly Sherry casks (a practice now rare and unique, as well as expensive, which gives the products a very special taste, rich, fruity and spicy). The Whisky with indication of age: 10, 15, 21, 25 and 30 years; Glenfarclas "105", the historical cask strength; the collection "Family Casks": the most exclusive and firm at the same time, release of 43 vintage Malts (since 1952) throughout the history of the industry. The number of bottles produced per year can vary, because every year is a cask (cask), and every cask is different from the other. All in full shade, and all strictly without any colorant and additive, the Glenfarclas "Family Casks" are packed in transparent bottles, so to show explicitly the appearance of the distillate.
